Bookie at Namo says, 'Kan Tok is a traditional way of eating in Northern Thailand, where different dishes are served together around a low table and shared. It’s also how I remember food growing up. There was never just one dish. There would be different flavours and influences on the table, everyone sharing and eating together.
For OctoberBest, we’ve taken that idea and created our own “Kan Tok” at Namo. The menu brings together dishes and flavours from the North that I grew up with, alongside influences from Tai Yai and Burmese food that are part of the region’s food culture. Some dishes stay close to what I remember, while others have been given our own Namo twist.'

OctoberBest is an annual restaurant festival which is directly linked to the Brighton’s Best Restaurants Dome Award winners of that same year. Winners of One, Two and Three Domes, as well as those awarded a Local Favourite rating are invited to participate. During one designated fortnight in October, each restaurant offers diners a special menu which best showcases their food.
