Jonathan Ray’s Wine Pick: Everflyht Wylde

A brand new addition to England’s wine scene, a sparkling rosé from the excellent single estate that is Everflyht, Ditchling, in the South Downs National Park.
A blend of Chardonnay and Pinots Noir, Meunier and Gris, it’s made by the Charmat or Prosecco method rather than the traditional or Champagne method, but don’t look down your beak at it because you’d have to have a heart of stone or be the snootiest of wine snobs not to be seduced by its cool packaging, it’s sexy pale pink hue and its vibrant, juicy, wild strawberry fruit.
It’s a wine for beach parties, picnics, barbecues and, well, just hanging out, and if a jaded old soak like me - hardly its target market - finds it irresistible, then I imagine you will too. Just £22 a bottle retail, it can be enjoyed on the terrace at Babble on Hove seafront for a very genial £8.50 a glass or £38 a bottle.

OctoberBest is an annual restaurant festival which is directly linked to the Brighton’s Best Restaurants Dome Award winners of that same year. Winners of One, Two and Three Domes, as well as those awarded a Local Favourite rating are invited to participate. During one designated fortnight in October, each restaurant offers diners a special menu which best showcases their food. It’s a great opportunity for restaurants to attract new customers, and for diners to try somewhere new at a discounted price.
Food reviews are essential as they provide insights into dining experiences. They help consumers choose restaurants that meet their expectations and can influence a restaurant's reputation. Positive reviews can attract more customers, while negative ones can prompt improvements in service and quality.
