Brighton's Best Restaurants Awards 2026 - the results
To mark its 10th anniversary, Brighton’s Best Restaurants has unveiled its first annual Dome Awards, a new rating scheme for independent restaurants in the city. Named after the Domes that adorn the city’s most famous landmark, the Brighton Pavilion, restaurants can be awarded one, two or three Domes, or be categorised as a Local Favourite. The Awards definitions are:
Three Domes - the best cooking in the city. Memorable dishes, top quality ingredients treated with skill and flair. Expect excellent service, elegant surroundings and great things to drink.
Two Domes - these restaurants demonstrate a high level of attention to detail in all areas: food, service and ambience, and deliver a top-quality experience.
One Dome - reliable, good value, delicious food cooked from scratch with good service in comfortable surroundings.
Local Favourite - neighbourhood-style restaurants with reliably delicious food and drink, often at affordable prices.
The Awards are based on nominations from Brighton’s Best Restaurants followers and readers of its Serving Up newsletter. The nominations are considered by Brighton’s Best Restaurants panel of culinary experts, headed up by Brighton’s Best Restaurants founder Andy Lynes. An award is made based on meals taken by the culinary panel.
The winning restaurants will be included in a brand-new map-based searchable restaurant guide launching midday 24th September, designed to help locals and visitors find the perfect restaurant for any occasion.

OctoberBest is an annual restaurant festival which is directly linked to the Brighton’s Best Restaurants Dome Award winners of that same year. Winners of One, Two and Three Domes, as well as those awarded a Local Favourite rating are invited to participate. During one designated fortnight in October, each restaurant offers diners a special menu which best showcases their food. It’s a great opportunity for restaurants to attract new customers, and for diners to try somewhere new at a discounted price.
